Workshop 05 - The Transport Administration of the Future

This Workshop will bring together the work of PIARC’s Technical Committee 1.1, Performance of Transport Administrations as it relates to the vision of the “Transport Administration of the Future”; AASHTO’s NCHRP 20-24(138) Moonshot project on the development of a national transportation vision for the United States; and TRB’s NCHRP 08-127 research project on the impacts of disruptive technologies on the performance of transportation agencies. It will also provide a global perspective on the vision of the Transport Administration of the future by inviting representatives from Africa, Asia, Australia, Europe, and South America to share their perspective and vision for the future of transport administrations. Of particular interest would be to share the perspective on the “North Star” of Transport Administrations as it relates to serving customers and creating public value; the transformational approach needed as a result of the new technologies and business models; and the significance of the Transport Administration of the future addressing issues of equity, diversity, and inclusiveness in the workforce of the future.
